Is a vapor barrier the same as full encapsulation?
Not always. A basic vapor barrier covers exposed soil, while a full encapsulation scope may also seal walls, piers, vents and penetrations and include dehumidification.
Should standing water be corrected before encapsulation?
Yes. Active water entry and drainage needs should be addressed so the vapor-control system is not covering an unresolved water problem.
Can you replace damaged insulation or framing?
Yes. The approved scope can include insulation replacement, subfloor or joist repair and other restoration work found during the assessment.
